WITCHCRAFT

Witchcraft is a spiritual system that cultivates free thought and free will, advocating a clear understanding of the earth and nature. It is a spiritual  structure that affirms Divinity in all living things. It teaches responsibility, for our actions, deeds and the choices we make. If a Witch causes harm to another, the Witch must face the consequences resulting from those actions. There are NO ifs, ands or yeah-buts; this is the one, absolute basic LAW of the Craft “Do as You Will and Harm None.”

Witches are in tune with the cycles of nature, the lunar phases and the seasons in celebration of spirituality and in worship of the divine, both within and around.  Witches work with their Deities, not in supplication, but with the intent of living in harmony and achieving balance with all things.

Witches are women and men and children who follow these precepts. A male practitioner is NOT a Warlock, he is a Witch.

The magick spells Witches do involve creating harmony in love, asking for healing, increasing creativity and accessing wisdom.  The potions Witches make might be cleasing remedies, a cold tonic, or an herbal soap for our pets. The gardens Witches grow are oft times filled with herbs and flowers used for spell work and transformation.

Witchcraft practitioners in ancient times were in tune with the forces of nature, had a knowledge of herbs and medicines, gave council and were valuable members of their communities.  They were Shamanic healers and leaders and understood that mankind is not superior to nature, simply one of the many aspects of the natural world, both seen and unseen. These wise folk, known as "The Craft of the Wise", understood that what we use we must return in kind to maintain balance.

As Chief Seattle said in 1854: " "Man did not weave the web of life - he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself."
